ACLT - Go Live Day!
In a previous blog post I touched on ACLT supporting my cause and helping to amplify my voice. Today (3rd May) was launch day, both on Social Media and also on their website. I can't sing their praises highly enough. They've opened my eyes to a few things and have opened some doors too. More on that will follow over the coming posts.
I don't plan to get into the nitty-gritty here. I just want to spend a few minutes sharing the love and praising the Team who have been tirelessly pushing, over many many years to help people like me raise awareness for the wider and the more personal campaigns ongoing across the capital and beyond.
The Campaign started with this...
"My 11 year old found me collapsed on the kitchen floor." Three years on, Naomi now needs a #kidneytransplant Read Naomi's story via the link. Let's find Naomi the match she needs for her and her two children. #RT (@Naomi_My_Story) https://t.co/doSjui5rMA pic.twitter.com/DGJT3BbIC6

Quickly followed by a piece on their website, I still get butterflies seeing my photo on their website...
More will hopefully follow and soon! I am making it my mission to keep talking about the current situation and the need for more people from BAME communities to educate themselves and consider stepping forward to help where possible.
You can drop me a message either via Twitter @Naomi_My_Story or HERE I love reading all of your messages of encouragement.
If you are moved by my story and want to get more involved, please consider doing one of the following two things:
1. Registering to become an Organ Donor here: https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ if you do, be sure to let me know!
New registrations give me a boost!
2. If you want to help me directly by being tested to see if you could donate, you will need to be aware of the following:
- Firstly, I am BLOOD TYPE O-NEGATIVE it's important you know this in advance to be considered for a possible direct donation.Failing that, an indirect donation is still a possibility. Please still get in touch using the below...
- Secondly, please complete THIS FORM and someone will get back to you to move things forward.
AGAIN, THANK YOU!
